over the holidays i had the chance to go home and spend a good amount of time with my grandfather. we talked and he told me about his experiences from getting married, to his time with the military and everything afterward. his wife, my grandmother, has been gone 7 years. he told me a man has a lot of time to think about his life when he’s been alone for so long. this is from one of his moments of thought and reflection.

i consider myself incredibly blessed to be able to enjoy moments like this.
